We will be taking a special offering in the month of September during our worship service to raise $9,000 to buy a church van. We are hoping to use the van primarily to minister to students on the Berkeley campus who need a ride to church on Sunday and for other church ministries and outings. Please be prepared to give.

We look forward to getting to know you better, and would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to our church. Here, our desire is to centralize the Gospel in all that we do. Thus, we value the preaching and study of God’s Word, heartfelt and Christ-centered worship, and the fellowship of believers. As we are a small church family at this time, we appreciate and cultivate close-knit relationships for edification and accountability.

As the new Senior Pastor at Living Word Fellowship, I am excited about the future direction of our ministry. This is a vital moment in the rebuilding of our church, so it is a significant time to be at Living Word as we grow together. As foundation for that growth, we are committed to the consistent exposition of Scripture. On Sundays, we are studying the Gospel of Matthew and will continue through the New Testament, while during our Thursday evening Bible studies, we will be moving through the Old Testament. Our aim is to establish a solid spiritual foundation from which we hope to expand the teaching ministries of our church.

In addition to expanding the teaching ministries of our church, the leadership team looks forward to establishing a solid church membership program. We believe that church membership is critical for the health of our church and the accountability of our congregants. As we slowly move forward and lay a solid foundation, we would like to encourage and invite you to take part in what God is currently doing in our midst.

We look forward to seeing you at our lunch fellowship following the Sunday service. Additionally, we would love to get to know you better so please join us for our Thursday evening Bible studies, and our monthly Newcomer Welcoming dinner.

If you have any questions, comments or requests, feel free to contact me for more information.

Warmly,
Eric Chabaneix
